  • Blue cohosh flowers are striking in their softness.  Plymouth, NH.

  • Leave it to me to visit the grounds of one of the most famous American sculptors and take a picture of a...bucket? Hey, I liked the contrast of the white handle and deep shadow and the texture of the old barnboards...and that tiny flake of green paint right on the edge of the shadow wouldn't let me pass by without pointing my camera at it. Seriously, the bucket made me do it.  Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, Cornish, NH.

Seriously, stick me in a city, and all the streets and buildings look the same to me; let me loose in the woods and I remember the configuration of every last root and rock and log.
